Fertigain: Additional Details
Infertility among dairy farm animals is one of the great economic problems which confront the vets. Breeding efficiency is directly related to the prosperity of dairy industry and Infertility causes economic losses to the farmers due to delay in maturity, calving and milk production. The farmer also incurs losses by maintaining an unproductive animal.
Infertility is a temporary disturbance in reproductive function wherein the animal cannot become pregnant. Normally an animal with a healthy reproductive function should calve every 12-14 months. The goal of a breeding program should be to have 90-95% of dairy animals bred in a 65 day breeding season.
- Irregular breeding history of the herd
- Abnormal Post-Partum reproductive conditions like Abortions, Retained foetal membranes, Metritis and Cystic follicles
- Lower breeding efficiency and Calving inter val longer than 13 months
- Short irregular intervals of Estrus
- Prulent vaginal discharge just before or during estrus
- Post partum anoestrus (PPA) and the ovarian hypo-function is indicated by delayed ovulation, out of heat for a long term or obscure estruso.
Some of the common causes of infertility are:
- Non detected estrus(silent estrus)
- Anoestrus, may result due to
- Energy deficiency/Anemia, inadequate intake of protein, iron, selenium or vitamin E
- Phosphorus deficiency or excess phosphorus
- Pyometra and severe uterine infection
- Pregnancy
- Ovulatory defects
- Persistent corpus luteum
- Cystic ovarian disease, may result due to
- Inadequate intake of vitamins A, E or selenium
- Wide Ca:P ratio or over-supplementation with calcium
- High dietary estrogens from moldy feeds or legumes that have high levels of estrogen compared to other forages
- Luteal Deficiency
- Repeat Breeder
- Diseases of genital organs
- Anatomical causes
- Faulty Artificial Insemination techniques

Ganga Prasad livestock healthcare advisor –
I was very much distressed in treating heifers and cows which were not coming in heat and were great burdens for the economy of the farmers. Then I came to know about FERTIGAIN. After feeding Fertigain for 10 consecutive days 80% animals came in heat and conceived. Thanks FERTIGAIN , a big relief to farmers.
Dr Subodh Goel –
Be it anoestrus, silent heat, anovulatory heat or delayed ovulation, Fertigain is the economical way out. The antioxidants and easily bioavailable micronutrients give early results than compared to products available in the market. A dewormer before the start of the course improves results.
